JLT Re Continues the Expansion of its Non-Marine Reinsurance Capabilities

14 July 2009

JLT Re has appointed Harry Owen as Partner in its Non-Marine Treaty Division. In his new role, Harry will focus on the production and placement of retrocessional and related business within the Non-Marine Treaty Division.

Harry started his career in the London insurance market in 1978 at Alexander Howden Group (which was subsequently acquired by Aon Group). During his tenure with Alexander Howden and Aon, Harry specialised in the design and placement of non-marine treaty reinsurance programmes for UK and international clients, ultimately becoming one of the company's primary producers of retrocessional business. Prior to joining JLT Re, Harry worked for Benfield as a senior member of the Non Marine Retro Team.

Bradley Maltese, Head of the Non-Marine Treaty Division of JLT Re, commented, "Since its launch as a dedicated reinsurance broker in January 2006, JLT Re has recognised the importance of the non-marine reinsurance market. We have made significant investments in this area and are committed to building a solid platform for our non-marine clients both in London and internationally. Harry has a very impressive track record in the market and brings with him a wealth of experience; we are delighted that he has decided to join JLT Re."
