Cyclone Yasi: Key Facts

As residents of Queensland are still coming to terms with the aftermath of the recent flooding, they are facing the most powerful cyclone that has hit the coast of Australia in living memory. Overnight, Cyclone Yasi has intensified to a Category 5 storm, and a cyclone warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to the coastal cities, stretching from Cape Flattery to Sarina, and extending inland towards the Northern Territory boarder.
